DAWN OF FREGENAL

The song of the second half of the month is the Dawn of Fregenal, acetrero suggested by our friend Fran. This topic is included in the abum Barrunto and is one of the songs that encourage people in the concert .... Acetre The audience accompanies the group's request the song with clapping.

Fregenal La Alborada stems Fregenal de la Sierra (Badajoz). This Alborada collected by the folklorist Bonifacio Gil by 1930 was running at the Novena in honor of the Virgen de la Salud and, moreover, is played by several drummers and dancers in the festivities in honor of this virgin.
These parties are held each year d rom August 30 until the September 8: "at dawn and before Mass Danzaores the Butler and other officers, accompanied by brothers brothers that are added to them at the touch of Alborada parade through the streets of Fregenal. The tour ends at the Church of Santa Catalina, where Mass is celebrated Mass Danzaores or Alba, in which dancing the first dance offering to the Virgin. "

Like all Acetre issues, the Dawn of Fregenal comes from a traditional original song in which the composer Acetre (José Tomás Sousa) performs various repairs and remakes the subject to make it a unique piece based on the mix of original music in addition of new instruments and melodies.
The only letter that can be found in this song Acetre is a "virgin of health" when the song is nearing its end.

Here is a video with the original folk theme:

Although they have as a starting point a local environment, they respond, like most popular culture phenomenon, a larger radius because the impulse is to give the popular culture encompasses both the villages of La Vera (Cáceres), as to Tiétar Valley (Ávila), two regions located between the southern slopes of Gredos and Tietê River and, by extension, most of rural Spain.
If only a visual display and oral, with a fun and festive component based on folk music, they now also have a strong component of reflection and analysis of popular culture and also a touchdown with the natural environment that includes a recovery of traditional life, as discussed in the brief report made available in the following paragraphs.

The song of the first half of the month is "Fado of the Moon" suggested by Paloma Sanchez.
"Fado of the Moon" is a subject on Gamusinos Ridge, the first album under their Acetre Bilingual Folk.
Acetre As we know comes from Olivenza border town between Portugal and Spain, which is why so Acetre included in their records many issues typical of Portugal, as is the Fado. In his discography we find several of them as "Fado Corridiño", "Amores Corridiños" or "Shake Fado," the latter is included in its new album with a new name.

Acetre In fado can see the accordion profesonalidad Inés Romero and Antonio Leyra accompanying some of them with the Portuguese guitar.
"Fado of the Moon" was one of the songs played in the concert Acetre with which celebrated its 30 anniversary in his hometown, Olivenza. It was a magical and beautiful, and that while interpreting the theme, the audience carrying a flare that left a beautiful picture. I leave the video below:

MAE BRUX

As I said during the second half of the month we will have as Mae Bruxa background song at the behest of our friend Fran acetrero.
I write under the letter of the song, a video and its origin.

Mae Bruxa (Witch's Mother) is a theme picked up in Cedillo (Cáceres), a town on the border between Spain and Portugal, whose inhabitants speak a dialect of Portuguese because their first settlers were lusos.
Cedillo The word itself comes from "hired" by the cession made by Portugal to Spain in this area to stabilize the border.
This language was despised when the town finally ended under the English influence. In times past it was believed that doing so was a matter of poor and the rich should speak Castilian as a symbol of progress.
Because it is a linguistic feature of this small town, some see it as a dialect (J. Miguel Manzano).

Mae Bruxa is, if anything, the song best-known album Acetre Dehesario published four years ago, in 2007. In addition, the song was chosen two years ago to be part of a compilation of world ethnic music in Greece and is most watched video online Acetre.

She changed the lyrics to the song with words adapting very sentimental to her husband Ruben that to which he is nervous and excited.
Congratulations to the couple and Marisol for that nice voice and courage to sing before the altar.

SPECTACULAR Acetre IN LÓPEZ DE AYALA BADAJOZ (Chronicle and photojournalism) COVERING

As we said last week we travel to Badajoz to be with our friends from the Acetre in celebrating its 35 anniversary held at the Teatro López de Ayala de Badajoz. It was a concert with members who filled the Teatro Acetre Badajoz (all tickets sold) and were accompanied by relatives, friends and fans of the group.
Here you have a small concert review written by me, photos, videos and other chronic acetreros attendees.

A freezing cold flooded the streets of Badajoz when about a quarter to nine people began to congregate around the Theatre López de Ayala, where it was to hold the concert. The crowd waited expectantly opening theater to enjoy a wonderful concert by Olivenza Acetre. Even the odd acetrero that had run out of tickets at the door waiting until the last minute hoping to see her favorite band in concert as special as that.
Shortly before nine p.m. theater opened and people began to access their sites at the entrance just a few of us could do with a commemorative poster of the concert.
seek our box on and we settled into our seats, the theater (which is huge) was packed. Addition we meet with some other family of components that would accompany them on this special day for them.
While we were eagerly awaiting the start of the concert a man follower of this blog came to greet me kindly From here I send a big hug.
At about ten past nine o fourth stage lights dimmed and a voice of Miss introduced the performance with a brief biography of Acetre . The concert began with performances by Juan Alvarez (ex-Acetre component) who interpreted a song to the beat of snipped by Antonio Leyre. Then the group performed several songs from their last three albums and several songs from older albums with modern sounds such as Round and Round Naranjero Amores (both with Juan Alvarez). In addition also had the exclusive three songs from his upcoming album: Fado Smoothie (with a new name), The Merchant of Zafra (an affair) and Amores de Mariana.

were more two hours of uninterrupted concert where the group once again demonstrated its power on stage by all attendees to enjoy. A concert full of emotions and surprises like the appearance of Jarramplás in the interpretation of the collection in Piornal Alborada (Cáceres).
the end, the group received a standing ovation by all the audience who shouted euphoric "another, another," the group finally came out on stage to play the last songs of the concert and after they greeted concert-goers with Juan Alvarez.

After the concert we were able to greet and congratulate the components and gave them a cake and a collage we had prepared as a gift for the 35 anniversary. They loved it, then you have some photos of when we did and when we gave it.
From here a big hug for all members of the group and congratulations on this great show. We also welcome from here on acetrero Daniel Gonzalez, who agreed at the concert and our friend José Antonio and his wife Marisol Cebrerino who we spend the afternoon of the concert giving a walk around "La Raya" (Badajoz and Elvas).
As always, until the next concert!

This is a small chronic conicerto by our friend Jose Antonio Cebrerino:

"We got in the door Lopez de Ayala Theatre .... "Someone has left an entry !!!!"... until" two souls "and we sold it.

In those early years of Acetre, created by a group of teenagers who got together to perform songs of Victor Jara and Pablo Guerrero and folk music, they remain "the spirit, enthusiasm and a taste for things well done "as well as its effort to preserve and disseminate the traditional music of Extremadura.
To Sousa, the trajectory of the group was" parallel to the history of Extremadura We have grown and evolved together.
